Medical Concept: Basic Suture Technique
This piece exaggerates the decaying process of a banana, transforming it from an everyday object into a site of tension between healing and breakdown. The visible sutures mimic emergency repair — a desperate act of preservation on something already past its prime. It reflects the human tendency to hold onto things long after they’ve started falling apart — relationships, habits, even versions of ourselves. The contrast between glossy "freshness" inside the wound and the bruised, fading peel emphasizes this emotional conflict: the urge to save what is inevitably slipping away.

“Cut to Fit” explores the deeply personal decision to alter one’s body — not out of shame, but through the desire to reclaim control and redefine beauty on one’s own terms. The classical form, paired with clinical markings and surgical tools, reflects the intersection between timeless ideals and modern modification. Flat, deliberate strokes emphasize that this transformation isn’t hidden — it’s intentional, visible, and unapologetically constructed. This piece is not a critique of plastic surgery, but a reflection on how choosing to change can be both empowering and vulnerable — a statement of identity shaped by the self, not the standard.
Materials: Cardboard boxes, paper clips, thumbtacks, LED light, sewing string, straw cleaner, hot glue, and a suspended glass crystal.
This installation experiments with shadow play and light manipulation, using layered cardboard frames and suspended elements to project a complex, shifting silhouette. At its core, a glass crystal dangles like an anatomical heart—both fragile and central—casting shimmering reflections that distort with every angle. The piece reflects the idea that reaching the heart, whether emotionally or anatomically, is never direct. It requires precision, vulnerability, and a willingness to navigate through both the visible structure and the intangible distortions. The framed layers act as both physical obstructions and metaphorical defenses, challenging the viewer to consider what it truly takes to see someone clearly—beyond light, beyond shadow.
